Pakistan Army and DG ISPR’s Statement on Flood Relief Operations: Complete Overview

Pakistan Army Flood Relief Operations:

The Pakistan Army has been actively engaged in extensive flood relief operations across affected areas. According to DG ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the Army has so far evacuated over 28,000 people from flood-hit regions, with two soldiers martyred during these efforts.

Key Relief Measures:

  • Medical Camps: 29 medical camps established in affected areas.
  • Bridge Repairs: Three major bridges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan have been repaired.
  • Road Restoration: 104 roads have been cleared and restored for safe transit.
  • Air Assistance: 26 helicopter sorties conducted to deliver aid.
  • Ration Distribution: 225 tons of food distributed and medical assistance provided to over 20,000 people.
  • Kartarpur Relief Operations: Large-scale relief activities ongoing in Kartarpur


Additional Military Deployments:

DG ISPR stated that the Army has deployed 19 infantry units, 7 engineering units, and an engineer brigade in flood-affected areas. These units are actively participating in relief operations in Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.


National Security and Army Readiness:

Despite being engaged in flood relief, the Pakistan Army has maintained readiness in border defense and counter-terrorism operations. DG ISPR emphasized, “The Army remains fully prepared not only for natural disasters but also for matters concerning national security at all times.”


DG ISPR’s Message:

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated, “In these challenging times of floods, the Pakistan Army stands with its people. We are providing every possible assistance and are ready to face any challenge to safeguard lives and property.”


The Pakistan Army continues to coordinate with civil authorities, rescue teams, and NGOs to ensure timely relief reaches affected communities across the country.
