Natalie Baker, the US Chargé d’Affaires in Pakistan, held an interaction with officers of the guided-missile destroyer USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG-108) during its port call in the region.
The meeting underscored the United States’ commitment to maritime security, regional stability, and continued cooperation with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific and Middle East. Officers briefed Baker on the ship’s operational capabilities, including its advanced Aegis combat system and role in ensuring freedom of navigation.
Baker praised the crew’s professionalism and reaffirmed Washington’s focus on strengthening defense and security partnerships. She also highlighted the importance of naval diplomacy in promoting peace and stability in international waters.
The USS Wayne E. Meyer, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, is currently deployed to support maritime operations and engage with partner nations through joint exercises and port visits.
