Lahore: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has unveiled a brand-new logo, replacing a design that had been in place for over two decades.

Why the Rebrand?

PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani explained that the previous logo failed to capture the “spirit, culture, or global image of Pakistan.” The new design is intended to better reflect the country’s heritage while aligning with its future ambitions—a visual identity that bridges legacy with aspiration.

The decision also responds to sponsors’ expectations for a more modern and resonant symbol that embodies Pakistan's footballing aspirations.

A Long Overdue Move

The former logo, introduced in 2003 under then-president Faisal Saleh Hayat, notably replaced the Pakistani flag with a football—an alteration that, as PFF noted, diminished the symbolic importance of the national flag, originally part of the PFF logo since its foundation in 1948.

A Strategic Step Forward

The logo revamp is part of a broader strategy to revitalize football in Pakistan—part of longer-term reforms aimed at improving both the PFF’s image and governance, as well as boosting domestic football through initiatives like a proposed franchise league
