Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited the Chohang Flood Relief Camp in Kalahor today to review ongoing relief and rehabilitation activities for flood-affected families.
Accompanied by senior provincial officials and local administration, the Chief Minister inspected food distribution, medical facilities, and temporary shelters established for displaced residents.
Key Highlights of the Visit
- Relief Efforts: Maryam Nawaz personally interacted with flood victims, listened to their concerns, and assured them of the government’s full support.
- Medical Facilities: Doctors and paramedics were seen providing treatment to women, children, and the elderly suffering from waterborne diseases.
- Food & Shelter: Distribution of ration bags, clean drinking water, and tents was monitored directly by the CM.
- Future Measures: She directed authorities to accelerate drainage operations and ensure that rehabilitation work is completed on a priority basis.
CM’s Remarks
Maryam Nawaz expressed solidarity with the affected families, saying: “The Punjab government stands firmly with every citizen in this difficult time. No one will be left behind, and we will rebuild lives with dignity and speed.”
She also announced the establishment of special monitoring units to oversee transparent distribution of aid and pledged long-term measures to strengthen flood resilience in the province.
