The White House has officially confirmed that President Donald Trump will meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today at the Oval Office.
The meeting is scheduled for 4:30 PM (Washington time), further underlining a warming phase in U.S.–Pakistan relations. Reports indicate that attendees, including Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, will accompany the Prime Minister.
According to U.S. officials, agenda items may include economic and trade cooperation, counterterrorism partnerships, and broader regional security issues. The meeting comes on the heels of a recently signed U.S.–Pakistan trade deal and follows prior high-level engagements, including Trump’s June meeting with Pakistan’s military leadership.
For Pakistan, this meeting offers a diplomatic platform to advance discussions on foreign investment, defense ties, and strategic alignment in a shifting geopolitical landscape.
