According to ISPR, the operation was launched after credible intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists linked to the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). During the heavy exchange of fire, Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Tariq, 39, and Major Tayyab Rahat, 33, along with nine other brave soldiers, embraced martyrdom while fighting valiantly.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the fallen soldiers, expressing deep grief and appreciation for their ultimate sacrifice. They reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to root out terrorism and ensure peace across the country.
“The nation stands united with its armed forces. Every drop of our martyrs’ blood strengthens our commitment to defeat terrorism,” the statement read.
The ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces will continue operations until the menace of terrorism is completely eradicated.
