Liverpool’s record signing Alexander Isak, who joined from Newcastle United for £130 million, is still searching for his first goal in the club’s colors. The Swedish striker has gone seven games in both the Premier League and Champions League without scoring, having played only 420 minutes so far due to a disrupted preseason.

Meanwhile, Sweden’s World Cup qualifying campaign has taken a major hit after a 2-0 defeat to Switzerland on October 10, leaving them bottom of Group G with just two points from four matches. Isak played the entire 90 minutes in that loss, but couldn’t make a breakthrough for his side.

Adding to the competition within Liverpool’s squad, new signing Hugo Ekitike has made an impressive start, netting five goals despite featuring mostly as a substitute — a contrast that has sparked debate about Isak’s form and adaptation to his new team.
