According to a foreign news agency, there was an attempt to poison former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who was removed from power 10 months ago, in Moscow. He was transferred to the hospital after his condition deteriorated, where he was discharged after his condition improved.

The incident is believed to be a targeted assassination attempt. This marks the second reported poisoning threat against Assad since he went into exile. Only close family members, including his brother Maher al-Assad, were allowed to visit him for security reasons.

It should be noted that 60-year-old Bashar al-Assad has taken refuge in Russia after stepping down from the presidency of Syria

There has been no statement from the Russian government regarding the poisoning of Bashar al-Assad.
