The trial of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan concerning the May 9 attack on the General Headquarters (GHQ) has been reinstated in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi. The Punjab government issued a notification confirming the resumption of the jail trial, which had been previously suspended. The trial is expected to commence in Adiala Jail, with heightened security measures in place.

Earlier, the Punjab government had decided to transfer the trial to an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi, conducting proceedings via video link. However, this decision was met with criticism from PTI leaders, who argued that the move was politically motivated and aimed at sidelining the party's leadership.

In response to these concerns, the Punjab government reversed its decision and reinstated the jail trial. The Superintendent of Adiala Jail has coordinated with the Rawalpindi Police to ensure additional security during the proceedings.
