Munaf Patel Says No Bowler Like Shoaib Akhtar Will Ever Come Again

 Former Indian pace bowler Munaf Patel has praised Pakistan’s Shoaib Akhtar, saying that his kind of bowler “has not come and will never come.” Patel highlighted Akhtar’s sustained pace of over 150 km/h for more than a decade, especially given the challenging conditions in Asia. He recalled that from about 1997 to 2011-12, despite injuries and fitness constraints, Akhtar maintained high speed and energy in his long run‐ups. Patel added that future fast bowlers from Asian countries are unlikely to match Akhtar’s raw speed and tenacity. He described Akhtar as someone “absolutely crazy” in his commitment, pushing his body and spirit beyond usual limits.
