Indian media was abuzz on Tuesday morning with reports claiming that legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra had passed away at the age of 89. However, his family, including wife Hema Malini and daughter Esha Deol, have firmly denied the rumors, confirming that the veteran actor is alive and recovering.

According to Indian media outlets, Dharmendra’s team allegedly confirmed his death earlier in the day after he was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital and placed on a ventilator. The actor had reportedly been facing breathing difficulties and was hospitalized last week as well.

However, soon after the reports went viral, Esha Deol took to social media to dismiss the claims, urging fans not to believe the false news. “My father is doing fine and recovering. Please don’t pay attention to such baseless rumors,” she stated.

Hema Malini also lashed out at sections of the Indian press for spreading misinformation, calling it “an unforgivable act to declare someone dead while they are alive.”

Following the confusion, several Bollywood stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Hema Malini, were seen visiting the hospital to inquire about Dharmendra’s health.

Dharmendra, one of Indian cinema’s most beloved icons, began his film career in 1960 with “Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere.” Over the decades, he became a household name through iconic films such as “Sholay,” “Chupke Chupke,” and “Phool Aur Patthar.” In 2012, he was honored with the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award, for his contributions to the film industry.

As of now, Dharmendra’s condition is said to be stable, and his family has requested fans and media outlets to avoid spreading unverified information.
