The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced an 18-member national squad for the upcoming friendly hockey series against Bangladesh. The national team will depart for Dhaka on Saturday morning, where the two sides will compete in a three-match series aimed at promoting competitive exposure and regional sports ties.
According to the official announcement, Imad Shakeel Butt has been named captain for the tour. The squad features a balanced mix of experienced and young players, reflecting PHF’s strategy to strengthen the national team ahead of future international competitions.
The touring squad includes Abdullah Ishtiaq Khan, Muneeb Ur Rehman, Muhammad Sufyan Khan, Muhammad Abdullah, Hamaduddin Anjum, Abdul Manan, Moeen Shakeel, Zakariya Hayat, Arshad Liaqat, Ghazanfar Ali, Rana Abdul Waheed, Afraz, Abdul Hannan Shahid, Abdul Rehman, Rana Muhammad Waleed, Ahmad Nadeem, and Junaid Manzoor.
A PHF spokesperson stated that the series is part of the federation’s broader plan to provide young players with international experience and build a strong combination for upcoming Asian tournaments.
“The federation hopes the team will perform exceptionally well and bring pride to the country,” the spokesperson added.
The first match of the series will be played on Sunday at Dhaka Hockey Stadium, followed by two more fixtures to conclude the friendly tour.
