Pakistan’s mobile manufacturing sector achieved remarkable growth in September 2025, marking a major milestone for the country’s tech industry. According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), local production and assembly of mobile phones surged by 55% during the month, with over 3 million units manufactured — the highest monthly output of the year.

The report highlights a 40% year-on-year and 55% month-on-month increase, reflecting strong performance and growing investor confidence in Pakistan’s mobile industry. During the first nine months of the 2025 fiscal year, total local production reached 22.2 million units, demonstrating sustained momentum in domestic manufacturing.

Out of these, 10.2 million were 2G phones while 11 million were smartphones. The overall mobile phone market saw a 1% increase in total sales, with smartphones accounting for 52% and 2G phones for 48% of the market share.

The PTA noted that Pakistan’s local manufacturing now fulfills approximately 94% of the country’s mobile phone demand, reducing reliance on imports and boosting employment opportunities. Industry experts predict an additional 7–8% growth in mobile sales next year, signaling continued economic stability and expansion in the technology sector.
