FBI Foils Terror Plot Targeting New Year Celebrations in California

US authorities have foiled a major terror plot in the state of California, preventing planned bomb attacks targeting multiple locations during New Year celebrations, according to a news agency report.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said it disrupted a conspiracy aimed at attacking immigration agents, their vehicles, and other targets in Los Angeles and Orange County. The operation was carried out in coordination with immigration authorities and other law enforcement agencies.

The FBI confirmed that four suspects have been arrested in connection with the plot. Investigators said the suspects were allegedly planning acts of terrorism during New Year events in Los Angeles.

According to officials, the suspects intended to target at least five different locations, including two US-based companies, by planting explosive devices during the New Year period.

Authorities said timely intelligence and coordinated action helped prevent the planned attacks before any explosives could be detonated, averting potential loss of life and property.

Law enforcement agencies have heightened security measures across the region as investigations continue, while officials reassured the public that there is no immediate threat following the arrests.
