Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held a high-level meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defence, Prince Khalid bin Salman, during an official visit to the Kingdom, with both sides agreeing to strengthen cooperation on regional peace and counterterrorism efforts.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, the evolving regional security environment, and enhanced defence and military collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

The discussions emphasized joint efforts to promote stability in the region and deepen coordination against terrorism, reflecting the longstanding strategic partnership between the two brotherly countries.

During the visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir was also awarded Saudi Arabia’s highest national honor, the King Abdulaziz Medal, under a royal decree issued by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

ISPR stated that the prestigious award was conferred in recognition of Field Marshal Asim Munir’s services toward strengthening defence cooperation and promoting regional peace and security.

Military and diplomatic observers view the honor as a reflection of the deep trust and strategic alignment between Islamabad and Riyadh, particularly in defence, security, and counterterrorism domains.

The visit underscores Pakistan’s growing role in regional security affairs and the continued importance of Pakistan–Saudi Arabia defence ties.
