Former Director-General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison following the completion of a Field General Court Martial under the Pakistan Army Act.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the court martial proceedings began on August 12, 2024, during which four serious charges were examined. The allegations against the former officer included interference in political matters, violation of the Official Secrets Act, misuse of authority and state resources, and causing harm to various individuals.

After a lengthy trial, the military court found Faiz Hameed guilty on all counts. ISPR confirmed that the verdict was announced on December 11, 2025. Throughout the proceedings, the accused was granted full legal rights, including access to a defence team of his choice.

The ISPR spokesperson added that the convicted officer retains the right to appeal the decision before the relevant forum. Meanwhile, matters related to alleged political provocation and destabilization involving political actors are being pursued separately.
