A violent incident unfolded inside Karachi’s District Central Court on Monday when popular YouTuber Rajab Butt was allegedly assaulted by a group of lawyers during a court hearing related to a blasphemy case. Butt, widely known for his “Rajab Ki Family” vlogs, had appeared before the court alongside TikToker Nadeem Mubarak to seek interim bail under Section 295-A of the Pakistan Penal Code.

According to eyewitness accounts and videos circulating on social media, the situation escalated suddenly when several lawyers surrounded Butt, punching and pushing him while shouting slogans. Footage shows Butt bleeding heavily from the mouth as court premises descended into chaos. Despite the disturbance, the court extended Rajab Butt’s interim bail until January 13, 2026, against a surety bond of Rs100,000.

Rajab Butt’s legal counsel strongly condemned the attack, calling it a life-threatening assault that took place in a highly sensitive judicial environment. The lawyer alleged that Butt was subjected not only to physical violence but also harassment, and claimed that cash was stolen during the scuffle. He demanded immediate action against those involved and questioned the lack of adequate security inside the courtroom.

Sources indicated that tensions stemmed from a previous vlog in which Rajab Butt allegedly mocked the complainant, a move that reportedly angered some members of the legal community. However, critics argue that regardless of provocation, violence inside a court of law is unacceptable and undermines the rule of law.

Human rights activists, journalists, and social media users have widely condemned the incident, describing it as mob behavior that damages the credibility of the legal profession. Many have also raised serious concerns over courtroom security, warning that such incidents highlight systemic failures in protecting litigants and ensuring justice is carried out without fear or intimidation.

Authorities have yet to announce whether any arrests or disciplinary actions will be taken, as public pressure mounts for accountability and reforms to prevent similar incidents in the future.
