Authorities have imposed Section 144 in Karachi, Hyderabad, and Chakwal to ensure public safety and maintain law and order during New Year celebrations.
In Karachi, restrictions have been enforced to protect citizens and prevent untoward incidents. Authorities have banned motorcycle pillion riding, carrying weapons, and the display of arms across the city as part of heightened security measures.
In Hyderabad, the divisional commissioner imposed Section 144 on the recommendation of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police. According to the official notification, fireworks, aerial firing, and the display of weapons have been strictly prohibited.
The administration has also directed law enforcement agencies to register cases and initiate legal action against individuals found violating the imposed restrictions.
Meanwhile, in Chakwal, Deputy Commissioner Sarah Hayat stated that Section 144 will remain in force until January 1. During this period, one-wheeling, riding motorcycles without silencers, fireworks, and aerial firing have also been banned.
The local administration has urged citizens to cooperate with authorities and respect the restrictions to help ensure a safe, peaceful, and secure environment during New Year celebrations.
