The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest ODI player rankings, marking a major milestone for former Indian captain Virat Kohli, who has reclaimed the No.1 position among ODI batters after a gap of four years.
According to the updated rankings, Kohli’s return to the top highlights his consistent form in international cricket. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s former captain Babar Azam has retained his sixth position in the ODI batting rankings.
New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell climbed one spot to secure second place, while Indian skipper Rohit Sharma slipped two positions to third. Australia’s Steve Smith moved up one rank to fourth, and Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel currently holds the ninth position. India’s KL Rahul also improved his standing, rising one spot to 11th.
In the ODI bowlers’ rankings, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan continues to dominate at the top. England’s Jofra Archer occupies second place, followed by India’s Kuldeep Yadav in third. India’s Mohammed Siraj made a notable jump, moving up five places to 16th, while Ravindra Jadeja dropped five spots to 21st.
The ICC ODI all-rounders’ rankings remain unchanged at the top, with Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai maintaining his No.1 position.
In Test cricket rankings, England’s Joe Root leads the batting charts, followed by Harry Brook in second and Australia’s Travis Head in third. Among Test bowlers, India’s Jasprit Bumrah holds the top position, while Pakistan’s Nauman Ali has climbed to second place.
In the Test all-rounders’ category, India’s Ravindra Jadeja continues to dominate, retaining the No.1 ranking.
