High-Level Libyan Military Delegation Visits Pakistan
Pakistan and Libya have taken a significant step toward enhancing defence and security cooperation as Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held a high-level meeting with Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Abu Al-Qasim Haftar, at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. The visit marked an important moment in bilateral military engagement between the two countries and reflected growing interest in strengthening institutional and professional ties.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Haftar arrived at GHQ along with his delegation, which included Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir formally welcomed the visiting dignitaries and expressed appreciation for Libya’s continued engagement with Pakistan’s armed forces.

The ceremonial reception was followed by traditional military courtesies, symbolising respect and the strength of bilateral relations between the two armed forces.
Tribute to Martyrs at GHQ
As part of the visit, the Libyan military chief paid tribute to Pakistan’s fallen soldiers. He visited the Yadgar-e-Shuhada at GHQ, where he laid a floral wreath and offered respects to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the service of the nation.
