A tragic shooting occurred at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, resulting in the deaths of two children and injuries to 17 others.
The attack took place during the school’s first-day mass, when students and teachers were gathered in the church.
Details of the Incident:
According to police, 23-year-old Robin Westman opened fire through the church windows using a rifle, shotgun, and pistol, killing two children aged 8 and 10 on the spot. Among the injured were 14 children and 3 adults, two of whom are in critical condition. Westman later took his own life.
Investigation and Response:
The FBI is investigating the shooting as a domestic terrorism and anti-Catholic hate crime. Authorities noted that the shooter posted an online video containing messages such as “Kill Donald Trump” and “Where is your God?”
Local and national leaders, including former Presidents Trump and Obama and Governor Tim Walz, have condemned the attack and emphasized the need for stricter gun control.
