MUMBAI: The highly anticipated third installment in the beloved Welcome film series, Welcome to the Jungle, has hit major roadblocks. Directed by Ahmed Khan and featuring a star-studded ensemble—including Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, and Arshad Warsi—the comedic action caper is facing serious production hold-ups.
Filming began in late 2023 with the first schedule wrapped by May 2024. However, due to financial challenges and logistical issues, two to three scheduled shoots have been scrapped in the past six months, creating uncertainty among cast and crew. Although approximately 60% of filming is completed, remaining scenes are in limbo, with actors waiting for clarity on future schedules. The project was initially slated for a December 2024 release, but the current outlook now points toward a year-end 2025 debut.
The delays have also raised concerns over unpaid fees, with several actors reportedly yet to receive compensation. Many cast members, however, remain committed to the franchise and are ready to adjust their schedules to bring the film to completion.
