Lahore Reports Spike in Dengue After Heavy Rainfall

Lahore is witnessing a surge in dengue cases following recent monsoon rains, raising alarm among health authorities. Hospitals have reported a steady inflow of patients with dengue symptoms, particularly in areas where stagnant water has created ideal breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

The Punjab Health Department has intensified fumigation drives and awareness campaigns, urging citizens to eliminate standing water around their homes. Medical experts are also advising the public to use mosquito repellents, wear protective clothing, and seek medical help immediately in case of symptoms such as high fever, body pain, and skin rashes.

Officials have warned that the situation could worsen if preventive steps are not strictly followed. The government has assured that emergency wards and medical staff are on alert to tackle the rising cases.
