The district administration has launched an intensified anti-dengue campaign across Dera Ismail Khan to curb the rising threat of the mosquito-borne virus.
Health officials confirmed that special teams are conducting indoor and outdoor spray operations, draining stagnant water, and raising public awareness about preventive steps. Schools, hospitals, and public places are being targeted in the drive to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds.
According to district health authorities, hundreds of households have been inspected, while larvicidal treatment is being carried out in high-risk localities. Citizens are being urged to ensure cleanliness in and around their homes, avoid water accumulation, and cooperate with health teams.
An awareness campaign is also underway in collaboration with local community leaders, urging residents to use mosquito nets, repellents, and protective clothing. Pamphlets and informational sessions are being arranged in educational institutions to educate students about dengue prevention.
Officials stated that the campaign will continue until the risk is significantly reduced, with strict monitoring of affected areas to prevent fresh outbreaks.
The administration has reiterated its commitment to protecting public health and has appealed to the people to play their part in eliminating dengue by following preventive measures at the community level.
