Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has launched a groundbreaking initiative to provide free pink electric scooters to women in Sindh, aimed at promoting women’s mobility, independence, and eco-friendly transport.

The scheme, unveiled at a special ceremony in Karachi, seeks to empower women by giving them safe and affordable transport options. The pink scooters, specifically designed for female riders, come with safety features, GPS tracking, and eco-friendly electric engines to reduce environmental pollution.

Bilawal said the program was part of the PPP’s vision to promote gender equality and support working women, students, and professionals across Sindh. He emphasized that women should have the freedom to move independently and securely, without barriers.

Social activists and women’s rights groups welcomed the initiative, calling it a progressive step toward addressing mobility challenges and reducing transport harassment. Experts also noted that the electric scooters would encourage sustainable transport solutions in urban areas.

The project is expected to be expanded gradually, covering major cities of Sindh, with long-term plans to extend it nationwide.
