Just days after Apple unveiled its iPhone 17 series, complaints are emerging from early buyers regarding the durability of certain models. Users on social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit, have reported that the phone’s surfaces appear more prone to scratches than previous generations.
Some customers allege that even with careful handling, the back glass and display panels have developed visible marks within days of use. Technology reviewers have also pointed out similar issues during their initial hands-on tests.
Apple has not yet released an official statement addressing the reports. However, industry experts suggest that the company’s push for sleeker, lighter materials may have made the devices more vulnerable to minor abrasions.
Despite these concerns, demand for the iPhone 17 remains high, with record pre-orders reported globally. Analysts believe Apple may issue a clarification or durability update as more users share their experiences.
