Focus on Child Health & Immunization
Health officials revealed that the campaign will primarily target children under the age of five years, as this age group is considered most vulnerable to measles. The initiative aims to provide free vaccinations across public hospitals, Basic Health Units (BHUs), and mobile health teams in both rural and urban areas.
Widespread Coverage
The campaign will be conducted in all districts of KPK, with a special focus on high-risk zones where vaccination rates are low. Thousands of vaccinators and health workers are expected to participate, supported by community volunteers and local NGOs.
Government’s Commitment
Speaking about the upcoming drive, a Health Department spokesperson said:
“Protecting children from preventable diseases like measles is our top priority. Through this campaign, we aim to achieve maximum coverage and ensure no child is left unvaccinated.”
Rising Health Concerns
Measles has remained a recurring health challenge in Pakistan, often leading to serious complications among children. Health experts emphasize that vaccination is the most effective way to prevent outbreaks and reduce child mortality rates.
Public Awareness Efforts
Alongside vaccinations, the department will run a public awareness campaign to educate parents about the importance of immunization, counter myths about vaccines, and encourage participation at local health centers.
