A partial lunar eclipse will be visible across Pakistan tonight, with citizens in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and other major cities set to witness the celestial spectacle. According to the Meteorological Department, the eclipse will begin in the next two hours and continue for several hours, offering a rare opportunity for sky gazers.

Experts said the lunar eclipse will be visible with the naked eye if weather conditions remain clear. Astronomy enthusiasts have been advised to find open spaces for a better view, away from city lights.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) stated that the eclipse will be clearly seen in Asia, Europe, Africa and parts of Australia, while Pakistan will experience all main phases of the event.

Religious scholars noted that on the occasion of a lunar eclipse, Muslims are encouraged to offer special prayers. Mosques in several parts of the country have announced arrangements for Salat-ul-Khusuf (prayer during lunar eclipse).

People across social media platforms are already sharing excitement, with many planning to capture the moment through photography and live streaming.

This marks one of the significant astronomical events of the year and has sparked wide public interest.
