Pakistan Navy Day: 8 September — Izzat, Himmat aur Mustaqbil ka Wada

Islamabad, September 8, 2025 — Pakistan is observing Navy Day today with national spirit and pride. The day commemorates the successful Operation Somnath (Dwarka attack) during the 1965 war, when Pakistan Navy struck Indian radar installations, demonstrating remarkable skill and bravery.


Prime Minister’s Message

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to naval officers and sailors, stating: “Pakistan Navy has always safeguarded our maritime borders with unmatched courage and professionalism. The 1965 operation remains a symbol of determination and valor.”


President’s Message

President of Pakistan, in his message, said the Navy’s role goes beyond defense, adding that it is playing a crucial part in protecting maritime trade, conducting peace missions, and providing disaster relief.


Naval Chief’s Message

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf remarked: “Navy Day reminds us of the sacrifices of our heroes. Pakistan Navy is committed to enhancing its capabilities and ensuring the defense of our maritime frontiers at all costs.”
