Former U.S. President Donald Trump held a meeting with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on the sidelines of high-level gatherings in New York on Wednesday.
According to diplomatic sources, the leaders discussed bilateral relations, regional stability, and trade cooperation. Trump reportedly emphasized the importance of strengthening U.S.–Pakistan ties, particularly in the areas of economic development, counterterrorism, and energy cooperation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by Ishaq Dar, highlighted Pakistan’s role in regional peace and stability and called for expanded trade opportunities between the two nations. He also briefed Trump on Pakistan’s ongoing economic reforms and efforts to attract foreign investment.
