Pakistani security forces have killed at least 19 foreign militants during a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, officials confirmed on Thursday.

According to security sources, the operations were launched in response to credible intelligence regarding militant hideouts in border districts. The militants, believed to be affiliated with outlawed groups, were heavily armed and involved in recent attacks targeting both security personnel and civilians.

Intense Fire Exchange

The encounters reportedly lasted several hours as militants resisted with automatic weapons and explosives. Security forces successfully neutralized the threat, recovering weapons, ammunition, and communication equipment from the slain militants.

Confirmation of Foreign Links

Authorities have confirmed that all 19 killed were foreign nationals, though their identities and countries of origin have not yet been disclosed. Security officials indicated that the militants had been operating from across the border and were attempting to destabilize the region.

Official Statement

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) is expected to release a detailed statement later, outlining the scale of the operations and their significance for counterterrorism efforts.

Rising Security Concerns

The fresh operation comes amid an uptick in militant activity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially in areas along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Local communities have expressed concerns over recent attacks, while security forces maintain that operations will continue until peace and stability are restored.
