Health officials have reported a sharp surge in cases of cold, cough, and fever as the seasonal influenza virus begins to spread rapidly across the metropolitan area.
Hospitals and clinics have seen an increased number of patients complaining of high fever, persistent cough, sore throat, body aches, and fatigue. According to doctors, while most cases are mild and manageable with rest and medication, vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and those with chronic illnesses are at a higher risk of complications.
Medical experts are urging citizens to take preventive measures, including wearing masks in crowded places, maintaining hand hygiene, and avoiding unnecessary exposure to the virus. They also recommend flu vaccinations, particularly for at-risk populations, to reduce the severity of infections.
Health authorities have assured that they are monitoring the situation closely and have advised residents not to panic but to seek timely medical consultation if symptoms worsen. Pharmacies across the city have also reported a sharp rise in the demand for flu medicines and over-the-counter remedies.
Doctors emphasize that early precautions, adequate rest, and hydration are essential in tackling the spread of seasonal influenza.
