Following the tragic shooting of Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025, the board of Turning Point USA has unanimously announced that his widow, Erika Frantzve Kirk, will succeed him as CEO and Chair of the Board.
Charlie Kirk, who founded the conservative youth advocacy group Turning Point USA in 2012, was fatally shot while speaking at a campus event at Utah Valley University. His death stunned the organization and his followers.
In their statement, the board said that Charlie had previously expressed to multiple executives that he wanted Erika to take over in the event of his death. “Charlie prepared all of us for a moment like this one. He worked tirelessly to ensure Turning Point USA was built to survive even the greatest tests,” the board said.
Erika Kirk, aged 36, has a background in modeling and pageantry (she was Miss Arizona USA in 2012), runs a podcast, and is involved in nonprofit work. She and Charlie had been married since 2021, and they share two young children.
She has vowed to carry forward her husband’s mission of mobilizing young conservatives. Among her promises: continuing TPUSA’s planned “American Comeback Tour”, maintaining the podcast, and expanding the organization’s outreach.
Since Charlie’s death, Turning Point USA says there has been a large surge in interest — thousands of new chapter requests from students across high schools and colleges.
