Heavy clashes erupted along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border after unprovoked firing by Afghan forces, prompting a strong and immediate response from the Pakistan Army. According to security sources, multiple Afghan border posts and militant hideouts suffered significant damage, forcing Afghan troops into disarray and retreat.

Reports indicate that dozens of Afghan soldiers and militants were killed as Pakistan used artillery, tanks, and both light and heavy weapons in its counteroffensive. The army also deployed air assets and drones to target positions used by ISIS and other militant groups sheltering inside Afghanistan.

Following the intense exchange, Afghan forces reportedly requested Pakistan to halt further heavy retaliation after sustaining severe losses. Several Afghan posts were left abandoned as troops fled, leaving behind bodies and damaged equipment.

Security officials stated that the action was necessary to neutralize threats emerging from across the border, where militants have repeatedly targeted Pakistani posts. The situation highlights ongoing tensions between Islamabad and Kabul, as Pakistan continues to demand that the Afghan government prevent cross-border terrorism.
