Cristiano Ronaldo has once again made history, breaking yet another world record during Portugal’s FIFA World Cup qualifier match against Hungary on Tuesday.
The 40-year-old football icon scored two stunning goals, becoming the highest goal scorer in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers history. Ronaldo has now scored 41 goals in 50 qualifying matches, surpassing Guatemala’s Carlos Ruiz, who previously held the record with 39 goals.
Sharing his excitement on social media, Ronaldo said, “It’s no secret that representing my national team means everything to me. I’m extremely proud to have achieved this remarkable milestone.”
The Portugal vs Hungary match ended in a 2-2 draw, but Ronaldo’s record-breaking performance once again proved his unmatched consistency and determination even at the age of 40.
In the Group F standings, Portugal currently leads with 10 points, continuing their strong campaign toward World Cup qualification.
