| Donald Trump Comments on Reported Pakistan-Afghanistan Conflict |
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has said he has heard reports of an ongoing conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan, adding that he will review the situation upon returning to Washington.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One while en route to Israel, Trump stated that he has always been skilled at ending wars and expressed confidence that he could help de-escalate this one as well. He recalled how he once helped ease tensions between Pakistan and India, claiming tariffs played a role in preventing war at that time.
Trump described it as an honor to have saved millions of lives and mentioned the Nobel Prize, saying it was initially meant for 2024, but that several of his major peace efforts were completed in 2025. He emphasized that his goal was not to win awards but to protect human lives.
Earlier, while discussing Gaza, Trump had said that the war there was over and that the ceasefire would hold. He added that a “Board of Peace” would soon be established for Gaza and hinted that the release of hostages might happen earlier than expected.
