Gaza Ceasefire Enters Third Day as Rebuilding Begins and Hostage Release Nears

Gaza Ceasefire Enters Third Day with Rebuilding

The U.S.-brokered ceasefire in Gaza has entered its third day, bringing a brief moment of relief to residents after months of intense conflict. In northern Gaza, Palestinians have started clearing debris and recovering personal belongings from the ruins of destroyed neighborhoods.

For the first time in months, aid trucks carrying food, medicine, and fuel have entered the territory, offering hope to thousands struggling with shortages.

Meanwhile, Hamas has expressed willingness to release the remaining 20 hostages, including women and children, possibly as early as tonight. Israel has confirmed its readiness to receive them under international supervision.

Diplomatic tensions, however, continue. The UK has claimed credit for helping facilitate the truce, a move that drew criticism from Israeli officials. At the Vatican, Pope Leo XIV urged both sides to pursue a permanent peace and end the cycle of violence once and for all.
