Former Pakistan women’s cricket team captain Sana Mir has delivered a strong response to what she described as “baseless Indian propaganda” circulating in the wake of Pakistan’s recent cricketing developments.

Speaking during a televised interview, Mir criticized sections of the Indian media and social media campaigns for attempting to malign Pakistani cricket and its players. She said that such tactics were designed to divert attention from internal issues within Indian cricket and undermine Pakistan’s growing performance on the international stage.

“Propaganda cannot change ground realities,” Mir asserted. “Pakistan cricket has faced many challenges, but our players continue to rise above them. Spreading false narratives only reflects desperation and insecurity.”

Her remarks came after a series of controversial claims in Indian media questioning the credibility of Pakistan’s cricketing structure and leadership. The former skipper, who led Pakistan to significant victories during her career, emphasized that players deserve respect for their efforts on the field, regardless of political tensions between the two countries.

Mir also called for sports to be kept separate from political agendas, urging both nations to let cricket serve as a bridge rather than a battlefield. “Cricket should unite people, not be used as a tool to spread hostility,” she added.

Her strong response has been widely praised on social media in Pakistan, with fans hailing her as a voice of reason and dignity. The statement has also sparked debate among cricket analysts, with many highlighting the need to de-escalate media wars that overshadow the game itself.
