Under the Gaza peace agreement, the Palestinian group Hamas has released 20 Israeli hostages, while Israel has freed more than 1,700 Palestinian prisoners.
According to Arab media reports, Hamas released the hostages in two phases — seven in the first and thirteen in the second. Israeli media added that Hamas also handed over the bodies of 28 deceased hostages.
The freed Palestinian prisoners have been transported by bus to southern Gaza and the West Bank, where they will receive medical care at Al-Nasr Hospital in Gaza.
