Jordan’s King Abdullah II has expressed a strong desire to further enhance bilateral defense cooperation with Pakistan, according to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, paid an official visit to Jordan, where he met King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah. During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, bilateral defense and security collaboration, and broader regional developments.
The ISPR said that Field Marshal Munir conveyed best wishes from the people, government, and armed forces of Pakistan to the Jordanian monarch, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to deepening brotherly and strategic ties between the two nations.
King Abdullah II lauded the professionalism and contributions of the Pakistan Army toward regional peace and stability. He also expressed keen interest in expanding defense cooperation and strengthening institutional ties between the two militaries.
During his visit, Field Marshal Munir also met Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces. Upon his arrival at the General Headquarters in Amman, he was presented with a guard of honor.
Both sides appreciated the long-standing military partnership and reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting peace, stability, and mutual defense collaboration in the region.
