Anti-dengue operation intensified in Bahawalpur

In a comprehensive effort to curb the spread of dengue, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) District Health Authority Dr. Amir Bashir has significantly ramped up anti-dengue surveillance and sweeping activities across Bahawalpur. Additional staff have been deployed citywide to ensure timely detection and elimination of dengue larvae.


District Health Officer (Preventive Services) Dr. Muhammad Rana Arshad personally visited several areas to monitor on-ground activities, directing field teams to intensify their efforts in identifying breeding sites, maintaining cleanliness, and enhancing public awareness on dengue prevention.


District Coordinator IRMNCH Dr. Ahmad Fawad instructed Lady Health Supervisors (LHS) and Lady Health Workers (LHWs) to conduct door-to-door inspections, educating citizens about preventive measures and the importance of maintaining hygienic surroundings.


Deputy District Health Officer (Headquarters) Dr. Owais Arif conducted field inspections, reviewing the performance of operational teams and urging immediate action at suspected dengue sites to halt further transmission.


Appealing to the public, Dr. Amir Bashir emphasized that community participation is vital in controlling dengue. He urged residents to keep their homes, workplaces, and neighborhoods clean, eliminate stagnant water, and promptly report any signs of larvae to the Health Department’s helpline.
