Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim have signed a series of landmark agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade, defense, and tourism sectors.
During an official visit to Kuala Lumpur, both leaders held extensive talks focused on boosting economic ties and regional collaboration. The agreements were signed at the Prime Minister’s Office following a high-level meeting between the two delegations.
According to the joint statement, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen defense partnerships through training exchanges and technology sharing. The trade agreements are expected to open new markets for Pakistani exports, particularly in textiles, agriculture, and information technology.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of Malaysia as a key partner in ASEAN, highlighting Pakistan’s desire to expand cooperation in both economic and cultural fields. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim praised Pakistan’s growing role in South Asia and expressed hope for a long-term partnership based on mutual respect and shared prosperity.
The two countries also discussed tourism initiatives, including the possibility of launching a direct flight between Islamabad and Kuala Lumpur to promote people-to-people connections.
This visit marks a renewed phase in Pakistan–Malaysia relations, reflecting a joint commitment to deepen strategic and economic cooperation in the coming years.
