Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has unveiled the ambitious ‘King Salman Gate’ project, set to transform the infrastructure surrounding the Grand Mosque in Mecca.
According to Arab media, the project will span 12 million square meters and aims to bring high-quality development to Mecca and the central region. The plan includes residential, cultural, and other facilities, while providing prayer areas for up to 900,000 worshippers, both indoors and outdoors.
The development will be linked to the public transport system, ensuring easier access to the Grand Mosque for pilgrims.
Arab media reports highlight that the project is aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, supporting economic diversification goals and expected to generate over 300,000 job opportunities by 2036.
