Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho chaired the first meeting of the Provincial Steering Committee to review preparations for the Measles and Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign, set to run across the province from November 17 to 29, 2025.
She announced that 8.2 million children will be vaccinated through 6,000 teams, with each vaccinator targeting over 50 children daily. Dr. Pechuho warned that no negligence would be tolerated and directed strict monitoring of vaccinators, hospitals, and schools.
The Minister emphasized that measles and rubella vaccination is now mandatory, and parents who refuse will face legal action. She also instructed the Information Department to run an extensive awareness campaign under the message: “Every Child Deserves Protection through Vaccination.”
Dr. Pechuho added that fake entries, misinformation, and non-cooperation by schools will not be tolerated, while the Police, Rescue 1122, and Home Department will ensure full security during the campaign.
