U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he is considering ending trade agreements with China following the country’s decision to halt purchases of American soybeans.
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump stated that China’s move to stop buying U.S. soybeans appears deliberate and amounts to “economic hostility.”
He emphasized that the decision is negatively impacting American farmers and said the U.S. is now evaluating whether to end other trade dealings with China, including imports of cooking oil.
Trump added that the United States is fully capable of producing cooking oil domestically and does not need to rely on Chinese imports.
