| Donald Trump warns India once again for not stopping oil purchases from Russia - Screengrab X@WatcherGuru |
U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to India regarding its ongoing purchases of Russian oil, stating that failure to halt such imports could result in continued economic tariffs.
Trump noted that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously assured him that India would stop buying oil from Russia. However, the decision now rests with India, and if the purchases continue, the U.S. may impose further financial pressure.
The U.S. president also addressed trade relations with China, suggesting that while tariffs could be reduced, Beijing must avoid manipulating the rare-earth minerals market in ways that disadvantage the United States.
Regarding Colombia, Trump added that further announcements related to tariffs would be made on Monday.
This warning follows a recent Oval Office statement in which Trump expressed dissatisfaction with India’s stance on Russian oil but indicated that the matter had been partially resolved following assurances from Modi.
