US President Donald Trump has indicated that a Gaza ceasefire agreement could be signed by Sunday. Speaking to journalists at the White House, Trump said negotiations with Hamas are progressing positively and praised his team’s efforts. He added, “If everything goes according to plan, the agreement could be finalized by Sunday.”
Trump also mentioned the possibility of visiting the Middle East later this week, though he did not specify which country he would visit. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio echoed that the President could make a regional trip if the ceasefire deal is finalized.
Meanwhile, indirect talks between Israel and Hamas are underway in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, with both sides expected to sign the agreement soon.
