The White House has responded to recent discussions surrounding former U.S. President Donald Trump not being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
In a press briefing, officials stated that such international awards are decided independently and that the U.S. administration does not interfere in the Nobel Committee’s decisions. The spokesperson emphasized that the White House respects the committee’s process and focuses instead on ongoing diplomatic efforts and maintaining global peace.
Supporters of Donald Trump had earlier expressed disappointment after he was not considered for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, claiming that his role in brokering peace agreements in the Middle East and promoting global stability deserved recognition.
However, the White House clarified that while past achievements are acknowledged, the administration’s priority remains “future peace-building initiatives rather than past political debates.”
