YouTube has introduced a dedicated new section for teenagers aged 13 to 17, designed to help them access reliable and age-appropriate content related to mental health and emotional well-being.

According to international media reports, the new section will focus on topics such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and other mental health challenges faced by young people.

Under this feature, when a teenager searches for terms like “depression” or “anxiety,” YouTube will display a special row of videos from verified and credible sources at the top of the search results. These videos will be specifically curated to ensure the information is both accurate and age-appropriate.

YouTube has partnered with several mental health organizations working with children and adolescents to ensure the material is empathetic, factual, and supportive.

This move is being seen as an important step, considering that many teens already turn to platforms like YouTube for information. A recent survey found that 9 out of 10 teenagers use YouTube regularly, highlighting the platform’s influence on youth culture and awareness.

The feature will initially roll out in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, France, and Australia, with potential expansion to more countries in the future.
