Explosion at Peshawar CTD Police Station Kills One Officer, Injures Two

A powerful explosion occurred at the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police station in Peshawar on Saturday night, reportedly caused by a short circuit, leaving one police officer martyred and two others injured.

According to police sources, the blast partially destroyed one section of the building. A heavy contingent of law enforcement officials immediately reached the site and cordoned off the area, diverting traffic from University Road as investigations began.

CCPO Peshawar, Mian Saeed, confirmed that the detained suspects present in the station at the time of the explosion have been safely shifted to the CTD headquarters. He emphasized that, based on preliminary findings, the incident does not appear to be a terrorist attack, though a detailed inquiry is underway to determine the exact cause.

The explosion caused panic in the vicinity, with rescue teams and bomb disposal units deployed to ensure the area’s safety.
